Your website should be optimized and catered to the search engines, which can provide a lot of targeted traffic to your site if it's done correctly. There's a lot of work involved in creating a website that ranks well in the engines starting with the design and content to linking it up properly in the world wide web.

These tools will help you create a user and search engine friendly website. There are a lot of thing that a webmaster should pay attention to so use these affiliate tools as a guide.

BROWSER COMPATIBILITY TOOLS
All kinds of individuals roam the internet everyday and everyone has their preference as to the browser they use. Some sites work well in one type of browser and fall apart in another; make sure that doesn't happen to you. Test your site for browser compatibility with these free tools.

Comatibility Checker
Great tool for checking browser compatibility, which also comes with a spell check, link check, load time check and also an HTML check and repair. You also have the option of signing up for a newsletter for webmaster tips and tricks.

Browser Compatibility Tool
If you need to check your web pages to see if they are compatible with browsers that lack certain features, this page checker might be useful. You have to specify which features you you'd like to include on a page such as tables, images, frames, etc. You also have the option of entering the browser ID string, but it's not a necessity to run a report.

BROKEN LINK TOOLS
Broken links are unprofessional and can really hurt your site when it comes to your content being indexed by the various search engines. Most engines require that you only submit the index page of a site and follow the links on your site to index the rest of the pages. If you have broken links, some of your content might not make it into the index. Make sure that your site is linked up correctly using the following free tools.

Dead-Links.com
Enter your website or weblog home page URL in the input box and the spider will read the html code and check for the broken links. The way the spider work is it splits links in two categories: internal, from the same host, and external, outgoing link to different domains. Once you have entered the start URL, the bot will follow every link checking for their status. When finished, you will see a report

Broken Link Checker
Identify broken links in your site. You may enter the URL of the web page with query string. The broken link checker will search your site, testing each link it finds and report the status of each link. Use it for free!

META TAG TOOLS
As mentioned on another of my pages, META tags play an important role in search engines determining the topic of your site and its relevancy to various search topics. Also, some tags are used to list your site in the search engine result pages. Are you using them correctly?

META Check
Our FREE on-line META Tag Analyzer is the first of its kind on the Net. That's not too surprising for some of you who have been following us over the years. There are now other analyzers on the Net that try to do what we have been doing for years, but we think you'll find the META Tag Analyzer does it better.

Check your META Tags
Check to see if your site is search engine friendly. MetaCheck will try to retrieve data from the url you specify much like a search engine would do. Enter your url in the provided box, and press submit. If you get results other than what you expected, there is most likely something wrong with the corresponding tags. A meta tag tutorial is provided for those wanting to learn more as well as a MetaMake, utility to create new meta tags for your site.
